Art Aesthete presents ‘Creative Disruptionists- The Home Coming’, an exhibition of Fine Art and Sculptures by Indian Modern and Contemporary artists conceptualized and curated by: Vandana Haksar and Avantika Haksar Chopra. Disruption is the buzz word of our times. A potent, positive force that is breaking conventions, catalyzing change and accelerating movement into the future. Creative Disruption is a birthing process of ideas. Ideas, that are undeniably bold, innovative and new. Likewise, the spark of Creative Disruption also ignited the art world and changed the face of Indian art forever.  The exhibition brings to the Maurya Hotel, the finest artists of India, in particular, ‘bringing home’ the legendary pioneering progressive – Krishen Khanna, whose iconic work – ‘The great procession of life’, adorns the dome ceiling of the Maurya Hotel lobby. The Bombay Progressive Artists Group, of which Krishen Khanna was a member, spearheaded a uniquely Indian form of Modernism, that celebrated Indian painting traditions, while acknowledging pioneering development in art in Europe and America and marked a key inflection or disruptive point in the journey of Indian Art.   The exhibition displays works of outstanding artists from the Bombay Progressive Group like S.H. Raza, M.F. Husain, F.N. Souza, Ram Kumar – who with their distinct styles, completely disrupted the old order and evolved a new, dynamic, modern idiom that formed the back bone of Modern Indian Art.  Other Modern Artists being exhibited are Thota Vaikuntam, Manu Parekh, Akbar Padamsee, Sakti Burman, Laxma Goud, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Manjit Bawa, K.G. Subramanyan, K.M. Adimoolam, Himmat Shah and Jogen Chowdhury. Sharing this platform are the new challengers-Contemporary artists and new age sculptors, both established and upcoming, with the likes of Subodh Gupta, Jagannath Panda, GR Iranna, Ompal Sansanwal, SudhanshuSutar, Kishor Shinde, Arunkumar H G, Sujata Bajaj, BaijuParthan, Dileep Sharma and Dhananjay Singh.
