10th August 2019 | 7 PM onwards |1AQ, Opposite Qutub Minar, Mehrauli

The August edition of Under the Banyan Tree celebrates the wondrous beauty of the Earth focusing on music that is deeply rooted in “Songs of the Soil”. The evening will witness soulful performances by Goa-based singer-songwriter Ditty, who sings Earth songs, and Hindustani classical vocalist, Nirali Kartik. The two performers for the evening perfectly encapsulate the theme – ‘Songs of the Soil’. Ditty is a Goa-based singer-songwriter who sings Earth songs. She works as an urban ecologist during the day and a musician at night. As a singer-songwriter and poet, her performances combine music with experimental spatial experiences and have ranged from performances in small tight basements with visual projections to concerts in a walking garden. Nirali Kartik is a Hindustani classical vocalist from Mumbai. She represents the venerable tradition of Indian Classical music. Her strong dedication to the perfect riyaz, her mellifluous voice coupled with a strong vocal technique. The suggested dress code for the evening is ‘A poetic tryst with flowers’, which encourages patrons to spice up their look with colours of nature.

Entry: Tickets starting at INR 1500 (including GST)
